10 Online School Tips...Pt. 2

Hey y'all!! Happy hump-day!! Well we're off school today (yes, even virtually), because of Storm Sally so wish us luck. I'm praying for everyone who has been affected by this storm, and also the wildfires. Can 2020 get any worse? I mean honestly!! I am so ready for this year to be over!! 

I did a post about some productivity tips back in March, and I am here today sharing 10 Online School tips!! These have really helped me be on top of my online school games, so I though I would share them with you all!! Hope they help!!

1. Don't Work In Bed

Don't do it!! Make your bed and move on!! This can cause you to become unproductive, and tired, and you know what that means...no schoolwork done!! This brings me to my next point...

2. Have a Designated Workspace

You know how you have a backpack at school, and you complain about it being heavy and your back hurting...we don't have to worry about that anymore!! Having all of your school things in one place is so helpful during online school. No losing notebooks, no lost pencils. But I will say this - moving around during the day really helps me be productive. I get really bored in one spot all day, and it makes it really hard for me to work, so that is why I say to move around during the day!! I like to move all around the house to find new places where I enjoy getting work done!!

3. Time Block

I cannot even tell you how much this has helped me!! Time-Blocking is one of the best ways to ensure that you get everything done during the day!! What I do is make a list of everything I need to get done that day, and then time-block it!! I'm telling you - its a life-saver!!

4. Get Your Priorities Done First

I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory...get your priorities done first!! This helps you to not worry over them, and maybe have some free-time in the afternoon!! 

5. Take Occasional (Healthy) Breaks

With online school, it is very easy to get lost in all your work, and never take a break. But I am here to tell you to take a break!! I'm not saying to go on your phone and scroll, but to take a healthy break!! Drink some water, go on a walk, play with your dogs!! Free your mind for a little bit!!

6. Remove All Distractions From Workspace

Once again, this is pretty self-explanatory, but it is so helpful!! I always get so distracted by texts, videos, etc. so what I've started to do is put my phone on airplane mode, and put it in another room - boom! No distractions!! 

7. Start Working on Deadlines the Day You Get Them

This is soooo helpful!! I have started doing this, and I cannot even tell how helpful this really is!! Don't procrastinate...get it done!! Then you don't have to worry about them later, and you can work on your other school projects/studying!!

8. Create a Schedule

I started doing this the week before school started to get into a routine, and it was so helpful!! Wake up at the same time everyday (Sometime before 8:30 is what I recommend!!), and get dressed!! Then start your time-blocking!! 

9. DON'T WEAR PJ'S

DON'T DO IT!!! This makes you so unproductive, and it makes you want to lay in bed all day which is not good!! Get dressed (doesn't have to be anything nice), brush your teeth, comb your hair, wash your face, and get ready to have a productive day!!

10. Reward Yourself

My final tip is to reward yourself. I don't mean anything big, but just something small to accomplish a job well-done. This helps you work toward that reward (by doing your work), and makes you happy to have a treat!! A cookie, coffee from Starbuck, one round of Fortnite - whatever it may be!! Reward yourself!!
