2021 Resolutions!

Thursday, January 14, 2021

Happy Thursday!! Y'all, I am so ready for Friday!! This week has been dragging by!!

Today I am sharing my 2021 goals!! As we all know, 2020 was not the best year for anyone, so I have some high hopes for 2021!! I've taken the past few weeks to really think about how I want to better myself this year, and I think that I have finally got it all!! So let's just get into it!!

For 2020, I made the goal to have no regrets. I wanted to live each day to the fullest. I'm going to be completely honest with you guys, I did not do this. I honestly forgot that even I set this goal. I got lost in this crazy year and did not live every day to the max. So going into 2021, I've decided to keep this same goal (with a little twist) and actually try to execute it.

I've decided that my word of the year is live. I've really been thinking these past few days, and I've realized that you only get one life. Only one. This year I want to focus on living my life to the fullest with no regrets. I want to choose to be the best version of myself each day no matter the circumstances. I always find myself getting caught up on things that are yet to come and not enjoying the moment that I'm in. This year, I want to focus on changing that. 2020 taught me that there are so many moments in life that we take for granted, so this year I want to focus on enjoying every. single. day.

That being said, the bible verse that I have chosen to focus on for 2021 is Psalms 118:24.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

Like I said, I want to focus on living each day to be fullest and choosing to be joyful every day.

So there you have it!! That is my resolution for 2021!!

Now I'm going to share some specific goals that I have for 2021...

1. Bible In One Year

Probably my biggest goal for 2021 is to read the whole Bible. I've started a plan in the YouVersion app that takes you through the whole Bible and I'm really loving it so far!! I've always struggled with reading the Bible, because I don't always understand what I'm reading, but this plan does a great job of explaining each thing that you read!! If y'all are interested, the plan is "Bible in One Year 2021 With Nicky Gumbel."

2. Go To Bed Before 9:30

This is something that I've been trying to work on for a while now, and that is making a concrete sleep schedule. Particularly being in bed before 9:30. Y'all know that I wake up very early, but I have been struggling with getting in bed at a reasonable time. So I have decided that I want to focus on getting to bed earlier in 2021. Specifically being in bed by 9:30.

3. Drink 60 Ounces Of Water A Day

I struggle SO BAD with drinking enough water!! I always seem to forget!! This year I'm going to focus on trying very hard to stay hydrated each day!!

4. Get Back Into Running

Some of you might remember that I used to be a big runner. I was on my school's track team and was going to be on their cross country team as well, but I fell out of love with running and ultimately stopped. This was in August, and I still have not run since. So in 2021, I would love to get back into running!!

5. Reach Move Goals 20 Days Out Of Each Month

This is more of a monthly goal, but that is to reach the move goals on my Apple Watch 20 days out of each month!!

6. Read 80 Books

Another big goal for this year is to read 80 books!! I read 120 books in 2020, so I'm hoping that I will be able to successfully achieve this goal!!

Well, friends, those are my 2021 goals!! Let me know in the comments what your 2021 resolution is!! Thank you so much for reading and I will see you back here tomorrow!!

  1. These are such great goals, Ella! I love the verse you chose.

  2. These are great goals! Best of luck with them.

  3. Great goals! I just started running this year. Now that it's colder out it is harder!

    1. Thank you!! It is hard in the cold, but I much prefer it to the hot Alabama weather!!
