Friday Favorites - 2.19.21

Hey, hey!! Happy Fri-YAY!! Yeah, you know I'm a rhyming queen 😂 Just kidding!! I can not believe that it's already Friday!! Holiday weeks always mess me up 😜 But, I'm not mad about it!!

You already know!! It's Friday favorites time!! I'm joining ErikaAndrea, Nancy, and Shelbee in their fun Friday link-ups!!

Yes, I'm keeping the Valentine's graphics...They're so fun!! 😜 Who doesn't love a little bit of love?

Last week Huddy finished reading Number The Stars!! He LOVED it!! He wanted me to tell y'all a big thank you for all the Holocaust book recommendations! Right now, they've been working through a nonfiction book about the Holocaust, but I think that they'll get to your recommendations soon after!!

I remember when I read this book. I read it with a group of girls in my neighborhood and we all really enjoyed it. I think I was in the 5th grade, so I was a "little" bit older than Hudson ;) Such a powerful book and it makes me so happy to see Huddy reading and loving it!!

A big favorite from the week was getting to see Abby!! I hadn't seen her since the beginning of the year (January 1st to be exact 😉), so this visit was long overdue!!

Y'all, it took us forever to take this picture. Forever.

Bahaha!!

Always laughing ;)

She even got a pic with Ollie!!

And got my very own PIP-ture!! She has the sweetest cat!! And that comes from a person who is not a very big fan of cats 😂

Fun times!!

Huddy has been OBSESSED with dinosaurs!! He goes through so many phases 😂 Literally, you can go up to him and he can recite all the dinosaurs!! Seriously!! Don’t believe me? Watch this.

Pretty impressive, eh?

Our Valentine's dessert board was a favorite!! Well, more like a candy board ;) I'll be sharing our Valentine's Day recap on Monday, but I thought I would talk about our "dessert board" a little bit here!! We have pink, red, and white M&Ms, marshmallows, heart gobstoppers, Hershey kisses, iced animal crackers, Twizzlers, sweet-tart hearts, and sour gummy hearts!! It was so yummy!!

Going to the coffee shop with Anna and Vivi is for sure a favorite!! We love getting a change in scenery every one and a while!

Now for this week's photo haul of the dogs...

Look at how he crosses his legs!! Haha!!

He was so sleepy!!

Yesterday we had a picnic!! Well, kinda. We laid out the picnic blanket on our living room floor and ate lunch!! Since it was so cold outside, nobody wanted to go on a picnic so we compromised!!

Ollie joined us :)

A big favorite from the week is that we had a snowday!! It actually snowed!! Kinda. There were flurries ;) But that was enough to get us VERY excited!!

It was SO cold for Alabama!!

Do you see the little flurries? They're there!! I promise!!

A favorite of Anna and Huddy's from this week was getting new bats!! They're wooden bats so they'll help them hit better. They came just in time for...

Huddy's first tournament this weekend!!

He's very excited!!

And finally, Anna's most favorite thing from the week...her weekend!! She has two friends who have Valentine's Day birthdays so she spent the weekend celebrating them!!

She celebrated Autumn by going to Birmingham and eating at the Cheesecake factory!!

Then she celebrated Vivi with brunch!! These girl's friendships are so sweet :)

So yes, it's very safe to say that Anna had a great weekend!!

And then finally...

My motto from the week :)

One more thing before you go!! Pink Lily is having a big sale right now!! I thought that I would share my favorites from the sale!!

Lots of great options!! You can find the sale here!!

Well, there's another Friday favorites for the books!! What was your favorite from the week? I hope you have a great Friday and weekend, and I will see you back here on Monday!! 💗💗

  1. My boys and I spent at least a full month studying WWII and the Holocaust-- it is one of my favorite time periods to read about and I was just amazed at how many wonderful children's books there are on the topic. (I actually wrote two posts about them: https://www.myslicesoflife.com/2016/02/world-war-ii-books-for-kids.html & https://www.myslicesoflife.com/2017/01/35-more-world-war-ii-books-for-children.html). One thing that I have learned on this homeschooling journey is that picture books can be fantastic tools for any age. I've even found some wonderful science books to use with my high schooler in that format! Your Valentine candy board makes my teeth hurt. LOL. It looks yummy though.

  22. I loved Number the Stars! We read it in fourth grade. One of the last chapters, or maybe the epilogue, is called "All this long time," and that phrase always stuck with me for some reason. I love that kids are still reading the books that I grew up with! :)
