Productivity Tips...Pt. 3

Thursday, March 4, 2021

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Today I have some more productivity tips for you!! This is actually my 3rd "tips" post here on my blog. I did one back in April and one in September!! Oh, how times have changed. But today, I have some brand new ones for you!! These are things that I do daily that help me stay organized, productive, and motivated!! I hope you find these helpful and let me know what your top productivity tips are!!

1. GRIND TIME

Ladies, gents, it's time to grind.

So as I was going over what I do on a daily basis that makes me more productive, I realized that I have my own "grind time." This is basically the time when I...grind. I work, work, work to get it all done, done, done. So my tip? Get yourself a "grind time." I try to have two a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. I'd say that it ranges between 2-3 hours. This is the time when I GET IT DONE.

2. STUDENTS...PLAN!!!!!!

I'm going to thank my lovely mother for this tip. A few months ago, she started printing weekly planner sheets for Anna and Huddy where she would put all of their assignments. It's categorized into subjects, and it allows them to know exactly what they're supposed to be doing. Well, little ole me realized that this is genius. I got her to print them for me each week, and I can say that it changed my life. I AM SO ORGANIZED NOW!!! So if you're a student, this is an amazing way to stay on top of all your classes. At the beginning of the week, I simply write down any assignments, due dates, tests, etc., and work accordingly. It seems simple, but seriously, it's amazing. Say hello to never forgetting an assignment!!

3. AFFIRM YOURSELF...YOU GOT IT!!!

Something that I like to do every now and then is affirm myself!! When I get overwhelmed or stressed a simple you got this, you are worthy, you are not going to fail, really boosts my mood. Because let's be real...WE GOT THIS!!

4. GOALS, GOALS, GOALS

Set ya goals.

I feel like I'm a very goal-oriented person. If I set a goal for myself, I'm going to do it. For the most part ;) Each week, I make a list of all my goals for the week and it really helps me get things accomplished. The feeling of crossing out your goal is satisfaction like no other!!

5. WAKE UP EARLIER?

Okay, okay. I know I'm crazy to say this but just believe me. Set an alarm 30 minutes before you want to wake up. Then set another alarm at the time that you want to wake up. I've been doing this for a while now and it helps SO MUCH with getting out of bed. That way you have some time to relax, catch up on everything, and just have some time to yourself before getting out of bed and getting the day started.

6. FOCUS ON YOU

Take some time for yourself - you deserve it!! Self-care is key!! Take some time each day to do something YOU love. Read, take a bath, do a face mask, whatever it may be, take that time to refresh yourself and be at peace.

7. TIRED, NEED ENERGY? TAKE A BREAK!

This goes along with the last one, but if you need a break...Take one!! Your work will be right there waiting for you when you get back.

8. BREAK A SWEAT

Break a sweat! Go for a walk, run, bike ride, dance in your living room - Get sweaty!! It not only makes you feel good, it can also be a stress-reliever!! Who doesn't like to go on a peaceful walk? Anyone? That's what I thought. Break a sweat, you feel much better.

9. PUT IT ALLLLLL IN

For to-do list makers, then this one is for you. When you make your to-do list, put everythingggggg in. You want to read 10 pages of your book? Put it in. Want to take a 10-minute nap? Put it in. It may seem simple, but NOTHING competes with the satisfaction of checking off your to-do list. It can make you feel so productive for the simplest things!!

10. HANDS OFF!!!

Just like grind time, you need rest time. Set boundaries for yourself!! It's easy to get lost in your work, and want to continue working, but we all need a break. Set a time each day that you want to be done with working. You may not get it all done, but that's okay. Like I said earlier, your work will be right there tomorrow.

11. POMODORO?

What is the Pomodoro Method, well, let me tell you.

It's very simple. You work for 25 minutes, take a 5 minute break, repeat. Do it 4 times and you've worked for 2 hours. I've been using this method recently, and let me tell you, it's great. It's not a super long time to be working so you don't get worn out AND you get a 5 minute break. If you're a student or a working person in general, this is a great way to get your work done.

12. HYDRATE!!!!!!!!!!

And finally, hydration. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE. Just this month I started being much better about my water intake and I can really tell that it's making a difference. A difference in my complexion, energy...This is your reminder to drink water today. It's simple, but it works.

Well, here are my productivity tips!! Now it's thankful Thursday time!!

1. We had a SUPER rainy day on Tuesday, but now it's sunny and in the 60s!! In my opinion, this is PERFECT weather...I love spring!! I'm very thankful that we have pretty weather even after a bad storm.

2. Thank you guys so much for your kind words yesterday!! Oh my word, y'all made my day!! Trust me, I would not be as productive and organized if it weren't for this blog!! Y'all keep me in check!!

3. I'm very happy (and thankful) that both my siblings are READING!! They've never enjoyed reading and know I'm (pretty sure) that they're loving it!! When you find what you like, it changes everything!! Anna is listening to Educated by Tara Westover and reading The Giver by Lois Lowry (one of my favorites!!) and Huddy is reading some Magic Tree House books!! It makes my heart so full to see my siblings enjoy reading!!

4. I went on a GREAT walk yesterday!! It was sunny and pretty, and I was happy. I walked 2 miles AND finished my audiobook!! So now I'm in need of recs - What's the best audiobook that you've ever listen to? I SOOO enjoyed my last one!! I also went on a bike ride AND run yesterday. Who am I? Already half-way done with my running goal 😜

5. I'm thankful that I'm going to the lake again this weekend! Anna and Huddy BOTH have a tournament so I'm going to enjoy my time up at the lake!! I know I always talk about it, but what can I say? I'm very thankful for my gracious grandparents who let me come up and stay with them!!

6. I'm thankful for MARCH. I think March is one of my favorite months. It's so hopeful!! I mean, spring and summer are just around the corner!! And spring break - Sounds pretty nice to me!!

Well, that's the end of this post!! I hope you all have an AMAZING Thursday!! Focus on all the little things that you're thankful for today!! Thank you so much for reading and I will see you tomorrow!!

  9. I sure wasn't this productive at your age but thankfully I have always been a pretty organized person. I am going to try the 25 min work, 5 min rest one and I need to hydrate more. Love crossing things off lists.
